There is no fee to surrender a pet; we know that it can be a difficult decision to give up a pet and we are here to help.
Please read the following information and fill out the surrender form accordingly. Either email it to the shelter before bringing your pet in or print it out and bring it with.  This makes it easier on you and saves you time when you come in. 
Yes, we do ask a lot of questions.
This is just so we can find the best possible matched home for your pet.  Please answer as honestly as possible as that makes the chance of finding and keeping your pet in a new home much better.

Surrender a cat

If you need to surrender your cat, please contact us ASAP. We do have a waiting list to bring in cats.   We maintain this list in order to stay within our legal limits for housing animals as well as to keep stress and disease levels low for the animals we are housing. The list also helps us continue to not euthanize for space or time. We understand that this can be frustrating and try our best to be accommodating and helpful within our capabilities.
 
Once we contact you and let you know when you can bring in your surrendered cat, you have the option of filling this form out at home and emailing it or bringing it in with you.  Please bring in any medical records you may have.  Also, any possessions/toys/food or other items you would like to remain with your cat.

Surrender a dog

Unlike cats, we rarely have to have a waiting list to surrender a dog.  Our dogs tend to get adopted very quickly, so we usually have space to bring them in.  We do request that you fill out the attached form and e-mail it prior to coming in or bring it with you when you get here.  Please bring in any medical records you may have.  Also, any possessions/toys/food or other items you would like to remain with your dog.
